Dear Whoever Cares Who Won The Scavenger Hunt,                                                   July 3rd, 2012

I had the most wonderful time on vacation maybe even enough to post pictures from the trip later on, but that’s doubtful. I hope you had a most spectacular time while completing my scavenger hunt. If you didn’t, I’m sorry. If you didn’t even complete the hunt or try at all, well, then there’s just no excuse.

While I was on vacation, in Hawaii, I found a really cool pencil case with Little Red Riding Hood on it along with an awesome pen with a good quote on it. After a through search of the rest of the store turned up no other fairytale items, I went browsing in another shop where there were cool looking bookmarks, that were surfboard shaped wood makeup, and had a wood carved bead dangling from a string connected to one end of it. (I apologize for that horrible, long run-on for a sentence). Not only did it have those awesomesauce features but it had tikis cut out of the middle. (I apologize once more for the way I sound like I’m trying to sell you a used car but alas, I am not. Forgive the abundance of uneeded detail.) I bought one to give to the winner of the hunt along with the aforementioned pen, pencil case, and limited edition copy of Once Upon A Time. Ha! You thought you were just getting a book! Oh and don’t forget your handwritten letter by me, eshy.

Now that I (hopefully) got all you guys hyped up by adding to the prizes, the moment where you find out if it is, indeed, you, who has won all the glory. *drumroll: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t925JwYXhVA*. The winner is Taya S. King!!! Congratulations! You’ve(obviously) won! I’ll shoot you an email shortly, if I haven’t already, requesting shipping information.

Before I wrap up this post I’d like to thank all the bloggers who made this happen including:

Those people ^^^^ really do deserve a lot of the credit for devoting their time and posts, putting up with me and a ton of emails, to designing the book cover for Once Upon A Time. You should really be a dear and check out their blogs because not only are they awesome for helping me out but because they are some of the most funniest, talented, good natured, gifted, smart, gold hearted, strongest, strangest, thought provoking people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. And that makes them truly awesome.

In all seriousness, you know who else is awesome? John Wayne. You. Yes, you! *points* The person sitting in front of their screen who hopefully completed and entered in my scavenger hunt. I thank you(if you did). I hope you had fun and I hope you continue to read my blog or at least check out the other amazing bloggers that I’ve linked. Please continue to check on eshysletters and who knows, there might be another contest. It probably won’t be as fun or as epic as this one though, because this one is pretty hard to top and it took a TON of work, preparation, emails, Private Messages, near crying moments, and good ole’ wishin’ just to make it work. Don’t fret, I’ll do my best to try to make another awesome contest. It probably won’t be as cool as this one. And it definitely won’t be soon. But alas, stay tuned. Ha! Wow. I just rhymed unintentionally.

One last thing to bug you with(promise this is the last thing) before you carry on with your merry way.

Remember if you won to check your email and reply. Have a good day, everyone! And a good 4th of July! God bless!

-with much love, eshy,

Dear Whoever May Be Reading This,                                                                                                                                            11-23-11

Give thanks! This is your Thanksgiving post and you’re fourth post of November. I was going to adorn it with little pictures of cute animated turkeys all over the place or the thingy that holds all that fruit and stuff, but I didn’t. Any guesses as to why? Yes, oh lovely. I’m telling you anyway- I’m not a big turkey person. I know, I know! Turkey is (in most homes) the main piece of the Thanksgiving dinner. But I’ve never been a fan of it. I believe in giving thanks, in that we should give thanks for all the little things we have everyday, and I believe in eating. Turkey though? Turkey can be substituted. I’m not anti-turkey. It’s okay. It’s not all that bad(unless someone screwed up in the kitchen again), but I just can’t eat a huge portion of it. I have two favorite foods to make up for my disliking of turkey though, you’ll see them throughout the pictures of this post.

Moving onto my actual topic I really wanted y’all to hear: being thankful. Now see I’ma lay the facts out right here and now: I am a Christian. I don’t care if you belive in God or not. My posts have never tried to convert anybody or have said ANYTHING about religion, I entend on keeping it that way. With that being said, moving on, we should give thanks or at least be thankful knowing that you’re reading this means you have access to a computer, either yours, someone else’s, or the library’s. That’s something to be thankful for considering that some people don’t even have paper or pens or books to read. Some people don’t have cars, yet how many of us ride in a car nearly every day to go somewhere? Even if you don’t have a car or ride in them, do you have shoes? Ya know, people are without shoes. And one of the most critical needs people have is substinance, or something to sustain them, food. People everyday go without food, without eating. Not just in foreighn countries either, right here in the US of A. People go starving but yet we have snacks almost whenever we want, most of us eat three square meals a day and when we don’t, we grumble. I’m not trying to guilt you for eating, even if I come off that way. I like to eat. I’m not guilty for eating and neither are you. But instead of complaining that in your cuboards and refrigarators there is no “good food”, be grateful and thankful that you have food, even if it’s not your favoritest thing in the world, because even though it may not be exactly what you want, it is food and that’s all that matters.

Now onto a less serious topic- back to food. My top 3 foods here ya go. Sorry for the weird formatting I guess I didn’t save it when I had my pictures and writing nice, so here’s to crappy re-doing and re-writing!

1st place, taking gold

2nd place

1.King’s Hawaiin sweet rolls. Don’t judge me, I’m an addict.

       2. Reddi Wip. The original, nothing fancy Reddi Wip. Who doesn’t like Reddi Wip?   Nevermind. don’t answer that. rhetorical question.

3. Apple pie. Mhm but don’t put Reddi Wip on it. I don’t like them together. Separate. Don’t question my food tastes. Mmmm. Delicious.

Now here’s a reciepe for Candied Sweet Potatoes:

  • 4 medium sized sweet potatoes
  • salt
  • 3/4 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 2 tablespoons of butter

Here’s what ya do:

  1. Cook sweet potatoes until tender.
  2. Peel, halve, then sprinkle the potatoes with salt.
  3. In a skillet, mix sugar with water and butter. Bring to a boil.
  4. Put potatoes in syrup and cook over low heat for about 15min, stirring occasionally, until all potatoes are glazed and candied.

You can melt marshmellows in too with your brown sugar, butter, and water before you add the sweet potatoes, if you want. Or even add in some pecans like seen in the picture ^^^.  Serves 4.

Happy Thanksgiving. Eat plenty because ya gotta be able to make it through the hibarnation stage of winter. Oh, and I’m super thankful for my readers! Thanks for reading!

Just for laughs....here's your animated turkey afterall.
