Dear Whoever Has Ever Wondered About My Writing,                               7/17/’11

I’m going to give myself 10minutes to write a short story now I’m not the best at these, much like my poetry, not even close to the best, so try not to judge that I’m a writer in the let’s write a novel not a 10min story. So I’ll give myself 10 minutes and write it all on here. That means no editting or anything so it’s pure raw and I’m writing from scratch. I don’t even know what I’m writing about yet not a topic not a character, nothing, no plot, I’m not allowing myself to cheat then you guys can tell me if I wasted the space of a post OR if I’m not that bad. Don’t gush, please, even if you think it’s great, it’s probably not to anybody else. I don’t know how long it’ll be or how good or what it’s about. Right now I’m just letting the clock wind to 9pm so I can write for a straight 10min so it’ll be 9:10pm and bam-o! Click ‘Publish’ and there you have it your 20th post!!! I’m pretty happy the way this blog has turned out so far and as you can see I already created a new category for my next 20 posts! I’m going to keep breaking them down so you guys can find them easy or start reading where you last left off. I think my system is pretty simple. Now, I need an idea to write about, cause if I write about something I’m used to writing about such as school, friends, love it’ll be a little bit easier than something completely fresh. So Google here I come.

Here goes:

Macy quickly walked into the little surf shack of a store she worked in. It was so different than that fast food chain place she had been working at for the first half of her summer. Already she’d made great friends but that didn’t mean she had really come out of her shell much. She talked to Ryan but in reality, he did most of the talking while she pretended to be busy fixing t shirts or re arranging the little boxes of the latest shoes. She nodded along and listened until all of a sudden out of nowhere something made her blush-

“Macy? You okay?”, it was Ryan’s cute face looming over her.

“Hmm, yeah. Why?”, Macy asked curiously. Weren’t they just talking after all? She was pretty lucky he befriended her, they always worked the same shifts as each other, and took lunch and break together. Normally during lunch they normally walked around the outside mall and picked up frozen yogurt for lunch. He was so sweet. The perfect friend.

“Why? You just fell out of nowhere. The only thing I said, well asked was if you wanted to stop and see a movie on Friday?”, Ryan answered her question and asked one himself. A question that made Macy’s cheeks blush red as she sat up.

“Oh, yeah. That’d be cool.”, she swallowed and nodded. Macy spent the rest of the day greeting the couple customers they had and helping them pick out which color shoes to wear as Ryan worked the register. He gently bounced and nodded to music on his iPod and Macy wondered if he wanted to go to the movies as friends or something more.

That’s as far as I got and I didn’t cheat. Honest, it just turned 9:11pm. I came up with this cause well told you I like doing the whole friends turned lovers thing even if it is cliche. But I was on a story idea generator that gave you three words to write about, I got:   Necklace, nervous, create. I didn’t get to the necklace and I’m not sure how I was going to tie that in. Nervous I tried to portray in Macy’s character but I was trying to make her shy not so much nervous. I don’t know, you could say she was nervous about going to the movies too. But she was a shy girl, and sorta new to the city. I don’t know *shrugs*, I’m tired. Create? What about create? I created the story didn’t I? Hahaha. So um yeahhhh I’m pretty nervous myself now because I’ve never really showed anybody my writing. Soooooo tell me am I complete fail or do I have potential?

                                                                         the curious, eshy,

P.S. Whoot! Whoot! This is our 20th post! Well 20th on our Dear Whoever category. I hope you guys really enjoy my blog because it’s fun and yet challenging for me to write it or even find time to write. Hence my idea that no doubt you guys have other things to do with your time, it’s hard for you to read or atleast sometimes, and I hope it’s fun for you to read. Basically what I’m getting at is a thank you. Thank you for reading eshysletters and these Deart Whoevers. I know many of them are pointless but I’m working on it. Hopefully one day they’ll make more of a difference. But right now they’re much like me……in the process. I thank you.

Dear Whoever Likes Poetry and New Poets,              7/16/11

I haven’t been posting much, I realize that. I also realize I’ve been getting less comments and such on my posts. It’s like we feed off each other. That means you’re a parasite! And so am I! Bleh, blood. Not. Tasty. ANYways, here goes nothing.

Today I was looking through some scrapbooks my mom has made/is making for me. And in it were 3 poems I wrote 2 years ago, in 6th grade. One I wrote for Speech Meet because while most kids pick fables, short stories, speeches, Bible verses, or poems already wrote by famous and classic writers/poets/people, most of them dead, my teacher was suggested by my F.L.I.G.H.T.(an advanced group called Flight or Future Leaders In Godly Higher Thought, nice right?) teacher that I and my current(then current, not now current) best friend write our own things and say them. Speech Meet happened once a year and was part of our grade and everyone HAD to participate, you pick something to recite, spend a month I think memorizing it and practicing it, then present it. You couldn’t use hand motions or a paper. It was strict memory, eye contact, no fidgeting, that sort of deal. All month we worked on not looking at our shoes and stuff. My friend and I wrote poems, hers about her little 2 yr old brother in his “terrible twos” and I wrote about what else…my life. Or a day of my life. I was so freaked even though my teacher said it was okay it didn’t rhyme like my friend’s did but mine painted a very good picture. As I said before I was freaked out that it was my own words and my piers were going to laugh and I was going to be mortified. I was very shy. I still kinda am, depends who I’m around and my mood. Normally I play the pissed off, angry teen. Well anyways I was scared but I had mastered my poem, a week before the Meet my friend backed out. Of course it was really late to start memorizing a whole new poem and my teacher was concerned but she thought she could do it and whatever. So she didn’t drop out completely meaning she was still going to get her grade and all that but basically I was the only one doing an original work! And she was my best friend. I was the shy one and she was the loud one. Not scared of anything. And to be honest I thin her poem was probably be better cause it rhymed and mine really didn’t.

Nevertheless I kept to it, but this isn’t a story about my bravery. This is just a buffer before I release my best poem to you: Just Another Day To Me

Just Another Day To Me

I have a lazy sister,

that I eye with scorn,

as I do my daily chores,

I walk into the shop,

where I peer and see,

my father welding away,

I admit I’m not a son to him,

but I was taught to work like one,

I’m so afraid,

I might displease him,

by doing things my own way,

To take a break I go inside the house and prop up my feet,

I glance at my mother, working the time of day away,

She says, “O’ dear would you please, take a bottle of water out to your father, make him drink it. Or else he’ll be out there all day. You know how he is.”   ,

I said my sister was lazy before,

Now I have to admit,

She helps quite a bit,

with the cleaning,

I can’t stand to do,

I head back outside,

into the blistering sun along with it’s heat,

However during a winterstorm,

everyone helps to keep the house toasty warm,

To the dogs I go,

They’re happy and excited as always,

so worry free and ready to maul me,

with their muddy paws,

they jump and run,

happy as can be,

happy to be free,

But as you may see,

it’s just another day to me,

learning how to be quiet and content,

in our little country home,

as somber as it may be,

So whatdya think? Good? Bad? Okay? What’s it paint for you? Leave me comments please!!! They are sooo much appreciated. I have a couple more poems if you want them but I warned you this is my best. I’m not much of a poet on paper but I got a silver tongue when I want it in voice. I’m more of a writer, an author. Maybe I’ll post a novel excerpt later.  If you don’t like any of the poems or stories or chapters of novels I’ve written then still I’d like to hear from you and you don’t have to be harsh, just honest, and whatever you do, don’t sugarcoat! Thanks a ton.

Dear Whoever Likes A Bit Of philosophy Every Once In Awhile,  7/15/11

If you do, you’re in luck and I’ll share a bit of recently renewed philosophy well I don’t know if it’s really “philosophy” but it’s all I got for right now. If you don’t like it, then go read my other Dear Whoevers cause I know you haven’t read all of them.

The type of music a person is listening to says a lot about a) their personality b) duh, their music taste and c) their mood.

If I’m listening to Snow(Hey Oh) -by Red Hot Chili  Peppers it says I’m laid back, mellow, chill, go with the flow type. OR it could mean I’m seething mad and I’m trying to be calm and keep my cool. See what I meant about the whole mood thing?

If I’m singing or lip-syncing  to a song on the radio or on my iPod I’m outgoing and fun, or I just really know and like the song but more likely the first. If you’re not singing to it, it could be many things such as: you don’t know the song or aren’t familiar with it, you’re thinking deeper about the lyrics or the music instead of the whole with them put together. There’s an exception here though, you could be singing softly and quietly or loud and passionate to song because it drags up old memories and feelings.

When listening to a sad or slower song, the person is either: a)really into blues b)in a hard time c)thinking about something else d)sad e)flashing through memories related to the song. When listening to a happy song or a song with a faster tempo the person is probably: a)happy b)trying to distract themself c)really likes the song cause it probably is a hit currently d)it’s bringing up happy memories e)they’re optimistic f)trying to escape dark thoughts.

Basically, that’s all I got. I know it’s not much but take what you want from it. Also remember all this is hypothetical and not fact. In other words, just cause there’s a Miley Cyrus song playing in the backround at the aquarium it’s NOT okay to go swimming with the sharks. If you do you’ll probably be sleepin’ with the fishys in the end.

the person who always has their iPod on shuffle so nothing will be assumed, eshy,

Dear Whoever Voted On My Poll or Hunger Games Fans,     7/14/2011

***Before I get to that ^^^up there^^^ I want to say I’m sorry for not writing yesterday for one I was in major pain, busy, I had practice, and my head was going to explode. I ranted in a Letter To Myself but I got kicked off the computer before I could publish it and so I published it today. ***

That being said, thanks to all who voted on my poll. To those who haven’t, you still can vote. The poll was on Dear Whoever #16 so go there and vote! Also sadly nobody voted for animals, I being an animal lover, was quite saddened by that. I was tempted to vote for it myself but I know what I want to write but the poll wanted to know what YOU wanted to READ.  And with THAT being said. I shall actually write what I had in mind for this post.

Some of you voted photography, some excerpts, some about my life, some music, some books and book reviews, and then some, God love them, voted random are good. So knowing the results I decided let’s do it! So this is the second part of my title:

Have you read Hunger Games? In case ya don’t know what that is, it’s a dystopian book series that’s been pretty big. We’re talking big enough to hit the big screen. It’s set to hit movie theaters in March 2012. Main characters of this kickin’ series are: Katniss, Peeta. Haymitch, Gale, the other tributes, President Snow, Coin, and Prim. There’s way more but that’s who I think are main components and who I can remember of the story. The HG series includes: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. These books may have a lot of gore but you won’t find any vampires or werewolves in there. The series is something new and fresh to what is becoming a wayy too old and wayy too fast and wayy too much overkilled vampire stories. Honestly, I only like reading something if everyone else hasn’t heard of it or if it’s just great. Each of the three books in this trilogy each took their own turn on the New York’s Best Seller List and after reading them it’s pretty obvious why. They’re just pure awesome. The author of the HG(Hunger Games) trilogy is Suzanne Collins. I heavily praise her writing. I never heard of her before HG but I think I’ll read some more of her books now. These books have an interesting plot with sooo many plot twists, it’s a page-turner for sure. There are a lot of twists but it’s not overkill it’s actually very nicely plotted and written. Now that I’ve praised the books and told you the characters names I guess I ought to tell you more about the actual plot(without spoiling too much) and the actual book, yes? Yes.

Here is the overview A.K.A. the summary on the back of the book:

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister’s place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before- and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Wasn’t it great? Makes you want to read it huh? I know. I was also going to post the first chapter on here but I don’t really understand copyrights so to avoid being sued I’m not doing that anymore. Anyways check out this book so you can read the first chapter yourself, and the book, and the series. *nods* Go to the nearest library or if the county library website. They normally have online databases where you can place holds or get them to send it to the nearest library from the library it’s at. Pretty cool that system. That was the overview from the first book by the way which is called Hunger Games. I hoped you enjoyed this post and read the many more to come.

Dear Whoever Reads This Blog Again,                               July 12th,2011

I have updated this blog with widgets. Which I now realize are fairly simple to use. I now have a subscribe button, a category cloud, a list of my categoried, my last 2 most recent posts, and I think some more but that’s what I can remember off the top of my head. I’d also like to say woohoo! We’re almost to 20! Oh yeah! 4 more and we’ll be there! It seemed like not long ago I was barely typing my first post! So I’d like to thank Faith once again for helping me out with it. I honestly probably wouldn’t have a blog without her, or a new wallpaper or widgets for you guys.

On this blog I’m going to try something new…..a poll. Yes, I said a poll. To see what you guys are into I’d like to put a poll in this post and see what I could do to improve my blog, and thereby improve your reading. Sound good? Good, here we go.

Did it work? If it did please vote!!! It’s very important. Sorry, this isn’t a stellar post but I’m pressed for time.

                                                                                  Adios!, eshy,

Dear Whoever Follows This Blog,  7/11/2011 I guess this could be counted to make up for 6/30 since it’s a double post for today,

I’ll keep this short. I added categories, now I don’t know if you can see them or not but I’ma go out on a limb and say you can. There’s Letters 1-20 which are my ‘Dear Whoever…” ‘s #s 1-20. Those are the ones you should read. The other is “Letters To Myself” now those are personal but you can read ’em if you want. Now as a disclaimer: They have profanity, if you don’t like it, stick to the Dear Whoever’s. So the Letters To Myself are just titled 1,2, etc. so if you like just skip over them. These will not make sense or have one topic as most of the Dear Whoever’s do. I am working on a way to seperate the 2 categories from my main page thingy/column-ma-jig thing that you all see.

I also got a new theme thanks to Faith that I thought goes better with my “letters” theme than the red flowery theme I had before. You like it? Then lemme hear some feedback.

I think that’s it for this post. See, told ya I’d keep it short.

                                                                                     Peace out, eshy,

Dear Whoever Likes Trends Or Dear Trend-setters, 7/11/2011
If you like trends, follow them, or set them, then this is my post to you! The defintion of trend is:
1. The general direction in which something tends to move.
2. A general tendency or inclination.
3. Current style; vogue: the latest trend in fashion.
Now I’m talking the third definition. Now I totally understand trends are constantly changing. But that’s why in the definition it says “3. current style-” Current. It wouldn’t be a trend if it wasn’t only here and gone, it’d be a classic. Now I have a totally awesome item I want to introduce to you. Before I do however, I wanna make it clear I’m not working for them or advertising them or anything I just like them and what they stand for. So I am talking about Toms . I know and like their shoes but I’m not sure if they have any other stuff. They are canvas shoes and very comfortable. Available in women and mens, kids, and baby sizes.
They come in a variety of styles, colors, sizes, and prints. They are comfortable but besides being comfortable, they are awesome. And I will tell you why my dear friend. The Toms brand is awesome because for every pair of shoes they sell, they give a pair away to a child in need. So basically when you buy a pair of Toms you’re buying 2 pairs of shoes. One for you and for a for a kid in a third wheel country who needs them. They are a little more expensive than most shoes but not by much, actually a pair of Converse are what $40? 50 bucks? The Classic Toms are only $44! So basically for 4 more dollars you can buy a pair for someone who needs them, probably more than you. So to learn more about the Toms movement go here .
They aren’t bad shoes, they’re very comfortable, they are part of the current trend(plus if they grow old and out of fashion, go get a Sharpie and re-style them if not, who cares?! You don’t always have to follow someone else! Except for when it’s for a good cause, say like now, which then you should.), there are very legit reasons for buying them that totally justify the price, and they’re cute, which never hurt. So if you’re too lazy to go to the link I put up I will tell you what their website says-
This is the story of Toms:
In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers.

So why did Blake Mycoskie pick shoes?
Many children in developing countries grow up barefoot. Whether at play, doing chores or going to school, these children are at risk:

•A leading cause of disease in developing countries is soil-transmitted diseases, which can penetrate the skin through bare feet. Wearing shoes can help prevent these diseases, and the long-term physical and cognitive harm they cause.

•Wearing shoes also prevents feet from getting cuts and sores. Not only are these injuries painful, they also are dangerous when wounds become infected.

•Many times children can’t attend school barefoot because shoes are a required part of their uniform. If they don’t have shoes, they don’t go to school. If they don’t receive an education, they don’t have the opportunity to realize their potential.

So if I haven’t convinced you yet to check out their movement or buy a pair then I will say in my last attempt to do so, they have a really inspiring video on their website that is accessible by their link which I put ^^^up there^^^. I’ll toss out another link because today I’m feeling generous. that’s the link to their home page. From there you can order shoes, check their movement, see awesome pics of the shoes, read reviews from Toms owners, and explore/see what I’m talking about. Toms are also available in some stores. I’m not sure which but 2 that definetly sell them are Nordstrom and RedESurf which you should be able to order them from their websites or the Toms website. I think they’re cheapest on the Toms website but that’s not a definite.
My sister has 2 pairs of Toms and she’s waiting for her 3rd pair to come in. I don’t own any myself but I’ve worn hers and tried on the ones in the stores. I, being a fresh teenager, in the US, am flat broke and I’m saving up for 2 pairs. Hopefully I can get them before school starts up again. I want to get the Ash Womens Classic and the Olive Womens Classic. It might be awhile but I’m looking forward to it and knowing that I’ll be helping 2 people in need of shoes. I don’t really need new shoes and I’m not much of a trend setter or follower but that doesn’t mean that I can’t do a little bit of good. And if you’re not really into trends, as am I, that still doesn’t mean you can’t rock a trend every once in awhile and do a good deed while you’re at it.
a future Toms owner, eshy,
