Dear Whoever Is Coming Down With 1 Of  The Usual Symptoms Of Summer: Boredom,                                  7/23-24/2011

For those of us on summer vacation and experiencing the usual boredom, this post is for you! Even if you’re not bored you can participate in this just FYI. It wouldn’t be summer without experiencing at least a tad of boredom and so in honored of my own bored-ness(which I admit is a pretty mild case), I am now announcing a monthly competition that celebrates well pretty honestly, nothing. But if you want me to rack my brain and turn my babble to a speech which is one of my better skills than let me rephrase- I am now announcing a competition that celebrates the end of each month and the beginning of a new one. Basically I’m saying it’s a testament that God hasn’t called us yet if you’re still reading this and I’m still writing it. Now this will happen every month if I can help it. Prizes may include any 1 of these awesomesauce prizes: a book here or there(via snail mail), Alyson Noel(book author of wonderfully amazing books I have had the priveledge to meet in real life) stickers, 5-free-truth-syrum-questions in which I have to be completely truthful and to any questions the winner wants to ask(will be on blog), a pack or 2 of random stickers, a post on my blog of a page of my diary of winner’s chosen page number,  a letter handwritten from me, mystery egg, a poster made my me including a quote from your favorite person, a shoutout dedicated to your blog on eshysletters, various nicknacks, a guest post on eshysletters, and overall bragging rights! Fair enough?

I know by now all of you just dying to find out what this months competition is so I won’t deny you any longer. This month the competition will be held from July 29th- August 2nd. The actual competition is a short story/letter/diary entry about your favorite summertime memory(preferably from this summer) or what summer means to you. The minimum word count is 500 and the max is 1,000. Remember to include detail. This competition is open to US citizens only. To win submit your short story, letter, or “diary” entry, between 500 and 1,000 words, between the dates of July 29th and August 2nd. To submit email it to and put “Summer Blog Competition” as the subject. Give me a email I can contact you at if you are chosen. Did I mention that I pick the best entry as the winner? I do. It doesn’t have to be some amazing story about how you and Uncle Louie scaled Mt. Rushmore, even though those are nice if true, it could simply be you impressing me with your wit as you tell me how amazingly boring your summer has been.

The winner of this month’s competition will recieve: Book 5 of A Series Of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket-The Austere Academy. For those clueless enough to not see the “BOOK 5” part yes it is a book. A very awesome book. Hard cover. No damage. Will ship anywhere in the US. Brand new. Also since I can’t add pictures like many awesome bloggers do of the wonderful prize due to my lack of computer skills, I will make up for it. How, do you ask? By including a handwritten letter from me, eshy, on regular old lined paper with a regular old pen. It may not be a signed copy of a book but it’s a LETTER, that’s HANDWRITTEN, from the maker of eshysletters, eshysLETTERS. Don’t make me spell it out anymore people.

if you’re not into reading there are 2 things the winner can pick from: a sleeve of stickers chosen at random OR a handmade poster for your room with pictures and quotes of your choosing(as long as they don’t go against my beliefs).

NOTE: Winner will be able to pick from A) the book and handwritten letter B)The awesome stickers and a handwritten letter or C)handmade and personalized poster and handwritten poster. Each prize I give out will include a letter. Like it or not. It is eshysLETTERS after all. Winners will be notified via email and posted on my blog!

Well I won’t post anymore till August 2nd so this’ll remain at the top of my blog but if you have any questions please leave a comment below and I’ll reply ASAP.

If you win I’ll notify you via email and also I’ll post the winner in Dear Whoever 24! So keep an eye out and be sure to include a name or some type of identifier and email address when you send me your entry. Well best of luck! And “May the odds be ever in your favor.”

Oh one more thing, do NOT send in any entries before the competion starts on July 29th. Limit: 1 entry per person, so make it a good one. Entries will NOT be submitted after 11:59pm of August 2nd Pacific time. Thank you and I’m expecting many entries!                                                               the very excited, eshy,

Dear Whoever Reads This Blog,                                           7/22/2011

First I’d like to say woohoo today is the 22nd and 22 is my favorite number soo woohoo!

Second, I’d like to ask: are you mad at me? I haven’t been posting. I realize that. And out of reflex I almost lied right now and said I’ve been pretty busy but like I said that’d be a gigantic lie. Also I’d like to say that when I miss a post I won’t be making up for it. I’m going to try to post every day but if I don’t then I’m not going to drive myself crazy trying to making up for it and I guess you’ll just have to deal with waiting till my next post.

With all that being said^^^ I’m going to say something else- I will be doing a newsletter called Kick It Up and I’ll be adding a new category for that. It will NOT be in letter form. It’s a Christian newsletter and before you think that religion stuff is boring, too serious, confusing, stuffy, and for adults, slow your roll and take a second to read one of the posts that will be coming soon. I’ll post each issue of the newsletter and I’ll be sure to order them and make it nice and easy for you all to find. If you already are being prejudice, despite my plead, I still encourage you to read Dear Whoever-s. Kick It Up isn’t just for Christians, it’s also for people intrested in studying other religions, or non-believers who are intrested or wanting to know what it’s all about. No matter who you are it’s for you. Please don’t jusge it before you even read it.

Oh I’m also now co-writing another novel with Faith. I’m very excited! Well I do believe she’s online so I’ll be ending this post about now. Sorry for my lack of great posts lately.

Dear Whoever Likes/Loves Yogurt,                                                         7/18/11

I am not one of these people but if you are congratulations. I am not that picky but somethings trigger a gag refelex unstoppable. Few things but still. Seafood is one of them. I don’t like fish as pets, or crabs or shrimp or whatever, and I’m not against eating them for that reason. I’m against it because I just a)don’t like it, any of it, not fishsticks, not fish eggs, none, b)I don’t do seafood c) I will start gagging walking through the grocery store and seeing the crab in the tank or at the beach and on the dock smelling the fish. Pass. Ehh, before I go COMPLETELY off topic. Let’s get back to the yogurt lovers/likers. Or more importantly, the ones who want something different. I know that we’re in a time of bad econimics(yes, I did just make up that wording, thank you).  So because of that I understand that not everyone can enjoy those fancy frozen yogurt places. My solution is- steal there idea. You can’t copyright what you like to put on your yogurt, right?

I think what I mean is pretty simple but I’ll break it down even more.

1: Get plain or vanilla yogurt

2: Buy toppings. Whatever you like or can get on your budget. (i.e. fruit, nuts, cereal, candy)

3: Scoop some yogurt into a cup or bowl how ever much is desired or eat out of the cup if you buy the single servings.

4:Mix in your toppings if wanted, or just simply put them on top.

5: Enjoy! Eat it all. Love it cause you created it.

There you have it 5 steps and you could probably get more than one serving and more than one serving of toppings for under 5 bucks! Smart right? That’s not even including that when adding their favorites things to something simple, kids will typically like it better than before. Plus it’s a fun, cheap, easy snack to keep everyone refreshed, cool, and creative.  Summer wouldn’t be summer without the cold things right? Right, so this is an alternative to all that ice cream and lemonade. It’s also great for college students on a budget or regular people yearning for something new. Indulge in your sweet tooth or simply add some fruit chunks for a healthier version. Listed below are some suggestions on toppings:

Everyone has their favorites right? Mine is fruity pebbles cereal 🙂 But on with the other suggestions:

  • kiwi, banana, and strawberry chunks
  • M&Ms, chocolate chips, and Reeses bits
  • Oreo cookie, mixed in
  • banana slices and granola
  • blueberry and rasperry
  • Cap’n Crunch cereal
  • fruity pebbles and mini gummie bears

Or try something new. Freeze your yogurt than let it thaw a little, add the fixings and enjoy. Although be warned I’ve nevered tried this so let me know if it works. There’s nothing wrong with going to the little frozen yogurt shops. They’re delicious. My favorite is I think it’s called Pinkberry but I don’t what’s around you. Pinkberry has a tangy orignal and it’s awesome. Personally I don’t like the other flavor yogurts I’d rather get original, plain, or vanilla and then add your toppings. Plus it’s more fun that way. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this yogurt-suggestion-filled post as our first post in our new category! Have a great day.  😀

Dear Whoever Has Ever Wondered About My Writing,                               7/17/’11

I’m going to give myself 10minutes to write a short story now I’m not the best at these, much like my poetry, not even close to the best, so try not to judge that I’m a writer in the let’s write a novel not a 10min story. So I’ll give myself 10 minutes and write it all on here. That means no editting or anything so it’s pure raw and I’m writing from scratch. I don’t even know what I’m writing about yet not a topic not a character, nothing, no plot, I’m not allowing myself to cheat then you guys can tell me if I wasted the space of a post OR if I’m not that bad. Don’t gush, please, even if you think it’s great, it’s probably not to anybody else. I don’t know how long it’ll be or how good or what it’s about. Right now I’m just letting the clock wind to 9pm so I can write for a straight 10min so it’ll be 9:10pm and bam-o! Click ‘Publish’ and there you have it your 20th post!!! I’m pretty happy the way this blog has turned out so far and as you can see I already created a new category for my next 20 posts! I’m going to keep breaking them down so you guys can find them easy or start reading where you last left off. I think my system is pretty simple. Now, I need an idea to write about, cause if I write about something I’m used to writing about such as school, friends, love it’ll be a little bit easier than something completely fresh. So Google here I come.

Here goes:

Macy quickly walked into the little surf shack of a store she worked in. It was so different than that fast food chain place she had been working at for the first half of her summer. Already she’d made great friends but that didn’t mean she had really come out of her shell much. She talked to Ryan but in reality, he did most of the talking while she pretended to be busy fixing t shirts or re arranging the little boxes of the latest shoes. She nodded along and listened until all of a sudden out of nowhere something made her blush-

“Macy? You okay?”, it was Ryan’s cute face looming over her.

“Hmm, yeah. Why?”, Macy asked curiously. Weren’t they just talking after all? She was pretty lucky he befriended her, they always worked the same shifts as each other, and took lunch and break together. Normally during lunch they normally walked around the outside mall and picked up frozen yogurt for lunch. He was so sweet. The perfect friend.

“Why? You just fell out of nowhere. The only thing I said, well asked was if you wanted to stop and see a movie on Friday?”, Ryan answered her question and asked one himself. A question that made Macy’s cheeks blush red as she sat up.

“Oh, yeah. That’d be cool.”, she swallowed and nodded. Macy spent the rest of the day greeting the couple customers they had and helping them pick out which color shoes to wear as Ryan worked the register. He gently bounced and nodded to music on his iPod and Macy wondered if he wanted to go to the movies as friends or something more.

That’s as far as I got and I didn’t cheat. Honest, it just turned 9:11pm. I came up with this cause well told you I like doing the whole friends turned lovers thing even if it is cliche. But I was on a story idea generator that gave you three words to write about, I got:   Necklace, nervous, create. I didn’t get to the necklace and I’m not sure how I was going to tie that in. Nervous I tried to portray in Macy’s character but I was trying to make her shy not so much nervous. I don’t know, you could say she was nervous about going to the movies too. But she was a shy girl, and sorta new to the city. I don’t know *shrugs*, I’m tired. Create? What about create? I created the story didn’t I? Hahaha. So um yeahhhh I’m pretty nervous myself now because I’ve never really showed anybody my writing. Soooooo tell me am I complete fail or do I have potential?

                                                                         the curious, eshy,

P.S. Whoot! Whoot! This is our 20th post! Well 20th on our Dear Whoever category. I hope you guys really enjoy my blog because it’s fun and yet challenging for me to write it or even find time to write. Hence my idea that no doubt you guys have other things to do with your time, it’s hard for you to read or atleast sometimes, and I hope it’s fun for you to read. Basically what I’m getting at is a thank you. Thank you for reading eshysletters and these Deart Whoevers. I know many of them are pointless but I’m working on it. Hopefully one day they’ll make more of a difference. But right now they’re much like me……in the process. I thank you.

Dear Whoever Likes Poetry and New Poets,              7/16/11

I haven’t been posting much, I realize that. I also realize I’ve been getting less comments and such on my posts. It’s like we feed off each other. That means you’re a parasite! And so am I! Bleh, blood. Not. Tasty. ANYways, here goes nothing.

Today I was looking through some scrapbooks my mom has made/is making for me. And in it were 3 poems I wrote 2 years ago, in 6th grade. One I wrote for Speech Meet because while most kids pick fables, short stories, speeches, Bible verses, or poems already wrote by famous and classic writers/poets/people, most of them dead, my teacher was suggested by my F.L.I.G.H.T.(an advanced group called Flight or Future Leaders In Godly Higher Thought, nice right?) teacher that I and my current(then current, not now current) best friend write our own things and say them. Speech Meet happened once a year and was part of our grade and everyone HAD to participate, you pick something to recite, spend a month I think memorizing it and practicing it, then present it. You couldn’t use hand motions or a paper. It was strict memory, eye contact, no fidgeting, that sort of deal. All month we worked on not looking at our shoes and stuff. My friend and I wrote poems, hers about her little 2 yr old brother in his “terrible twos” and I wrote about what else…my life. Or a day of my life. I was so freaked even though my teacher said it was okay it didn’t rhyme like my friend’s did but mine painted a very good picture. As I said before I was freaked out that it was my own words and my piers were going to laugh and I was going to be mortified. I was very shy. I still kinda am, depends who I’m around and my mood. Normally I play the pissed off, angry teen. Well anyways I was scared but I had mastered my poem, a week before the Meet my friend backed out. Of course it was really late to start memorizing a whole new poem and my teacher was concerned but she thought she could do it and whatever. So she didn’t drop out completely meaning she was still going to get her grade and all that but basically I was the only one doing an original work! And she was my best friend. I was the shy one and she was the loud one. Not scared of anything. And to be honest I thin her poem was probably be better cause it rhymed and mine really didn’t.

Nevertheless I kept to it, but this isn’t a story about my bravery. This is just a buffer before I release my best poem to you: Just Another Day To Me

Just Another Day To Me

I have a lazy sister,

that I eye with scorn,

as I do my daily chores,

I walk into the shop,

where I peer and see,

my father welding away,

I admit I’m not a son to him,

but I was taught to work like one,

I’m so afraid,

I might displease him,

by doing things my own way,

To take a break I go inside the house and prop up my feet,

I glance at my mother, working the time of day away,

She says, “O’ dear would you please, take a bottle of water out to your father, make him drink it. Or else he’ll be out there all day. You know how he is.”   ,

I said my sister was lazy before,

Now I have to admit,

She helps quite a bit,

with the cleaning,

I can’t stand to do,

I head back outside,

into the blistering sun along with it’s heat,

However during a winterstorm,

everyone helps to keep the house toasty warm,

To the dogs I go,

They’re happy and excited as always,

so worry free and ready to maul me,

with their muddy paws,

they jump and run,

happy as can be,

happy to be free,

But as you may see,

it’s just another day to me,

learning how to be quiet and content,

in our little country home,

as somber as it may be,

So whatdya think? Good? Bad? Okay? What’s it paint for you? Leave me comments please!!! They are sooo much appreciated. I have a couple more poems if you want them but I warned you this is my best. I’m not much of a poet on paper but I got a silver tongue when I want it in voice. I’m more of a writer, an author. Maybe I’ll post a novel excerpt later.  If you don’t like any of the poems or stories or chapters of novels I’ve written then still I’d like to hear from you and you don’t have to be harsh, just honest, and whatever you do, don’t sugarcoat! Thanks a ton.

Dear Whoever Likes A Bit Of philosophy Every Once In Awhile,  7/15/11

If you do, you’re in luck and I’ll share a bit of recently renewed philosophy well I don’t know if it’s really “philosophy” but it’s all I got for right now. If you don’t like it, then go read my other Dear Whoevers cause I know you haven’t read all of them.

The type of music a person is listening to says a lot about a) their personality b) duh, their music taste and c) their mood.

If I’m listening to Snow(Hey Oh) -by Red Hot Chili  Peppers it says I’m laid back, mellow, chill, go with the flow type. OR it could mean I’m seething mad and I’m trying to be calm and keep my cool. See what I meant about the whole mood thing?

If I’m singing or lip-syncing  to a song on the radio or on my iPod I’m outgoing and fun, or I just really know and like the song but more likely the first. If you’re not singing to it, it could be many things such as: you don’t know the song or aren’t familiar with it, you’re thinking deeper about the lyrics or the music instead of the whole with them put together. There’s an exception here though, you could be singing softly and quietly or loud and passionate to song because it drags up old memories and feelings.

When listening to a sad or slower song, the person is either: a)really into blues b)in a hard time c)thinking about something else d)sad e)flashing through memories related to the song. When listening to a happy song or a song with a faster tempo the person is probably: a)happy b)trying to distract themself c)really likes the song cause it probably is a hit currently d)it’s bringing up happy memories e)they’re optimistic f)trying to escape dark thoughts.

Basically, that’s all I got. I know it’s not much but take what you want from it. Also remember all this is hypothetical and not fact. In other words, just cause there’s a Miley Cyrus song playing in the backround at the aquarium it’s NOT okay to go swimming with the sharks. If you do you’ll probably be sleepin’ with the fishys in the end.

the person who always has their iPod on shuffle so nothing will be assumed, eshy,

Dear Whoever Voted On My Poll or Hunger Games Fans,     7/14/2011

***Before I get to that ^^^up there^^^ I want to say I’m sorry for not writing yesterday for one I was in major pain, busy, I had practice, and my head was going to explode. I ranted in a Letter To Myself but I got kicked off the computer before I could publish it and so I published it today. ***

That being said, thanks to all who voted on my poll. To those who haven’t, you still can vote. The poll was on Dear Whoever #16 so go there and vote! Also sadly nobody voted for animals, I being an animal lover, was quite saddened by that. I was tempted to vote for it myself but I know what I want to write but the poll wanted to know what YOU wanted to READ.  And with THAT being said. I shall actually write what I had in mind for this post.

Some of you voted photography, some excerpts, some about my life, some music, some books and book reviews, and then some, God love them, voted random are good. So knowing the results I decided let’s do it! So this is the second part of my title:

Have you read Hunger Games? In case ya don’t know what that is, it’s a dystopian book series that’s been pretty big. We’re talking big enough to hit the big screen. It’s set to hit movie theaters in March 2012. Main characters of this kickin’ series are: Katniss, Peeta. Haymitch, Gale, the other tributes, President Snow, Coin, and Prim. There’s way more but that’s who I think are main components and who I can remember of the story. The HG series includes: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. These books may have a lot of gore but you won’t find any vampires or werewolves in there. The series is something new and fresh to what is becoming a wayy too old and wayy too fast and wayy too much overkilled vampire stories. Honestly, I only like reading something if everyone else hasn’t heard of it or if it’s just great. Each of the three books in this trilogy each took their own turn on the New York’s Best Seller List and after reading them it’s pretty obvious why. They’re just pure awesome. The author of the HG(Hunger Games) trilogy is Suzanne Collins. I heavily praise her writing. I never heard of her before HG but I think I’ll read some more of her books now. These books have an interesting plot with sooo many plot twists, it’s a page-turner for sure. There are a lot of twists but it’s not overkill it’s actually very nicely plotted and written. Now that I’ve praised the books and told you the characters names I guess I ought to tell you more about the actual plot(without spoiling too much) and the actual book, yes? Yes.

Here is the overview A.K.A. the summary on the back of the book:

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister’s place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before- and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Wasn’t it great? Makes you want to read it huh? I know. I was also going to post the first chapter on here but I don’t really understand copyrights so to avoid being sued I’m not doing that anymore. Anyways check out this book so you can read the first chapter yourself, and the book, and the series. *nods* Go to the nearest library or if the county library website. They normally have online databases where you can place holds or get them to send it to the nearest library from the library it’s at. Pretty cool that system. That was the overview from the first book by the way which is called Hunger Games. I hoped you enjoyed this post and read the many more to come.
